Program and Activities
- Group Counseling : Support the children in receiving structured guidance that fosters their cognitive, mental and psychosocial well-being, helping them grow academically, emotionally and socially in a safe and supportive environment.
- Tutoring : Provide the children with academic support in subjects such as Mathematics and Physics, helping them better understand and deepen the material they learn at school. The sessions are organized based on grade level and similarity of subject matter to ensure more focused and effective learning.
- Swimming Class : This class is conducted at Ohana Swimming Pool facility located next to the shelter house. These swimming sessions serve as a non-academic activity for our shelter children. It provides opportunities for regular physical exercise and helps our children develop essential swimming skills.
- Silat : We support children’s non-academic development. Through regular training, children enhance their physical fitness, coordination and discipline, while also building character traits such as focus, resilience and self-control.
- Religion Class : This class is to support the children’s spiritual growth and character formation. Through these sessions, children learn core religious teachings and values, including how to read the holy Qur’an, helping them build integrity, empathy and a sense of responsibility in their daily lives.
- Duty Roster : Designed to teach our children essential life skills such as cooking, washing, ironing & managing their personal belongings. Through these practical skills, they learn independence and discipline, preparing them to live independently and responsibly manage their personal needs after graduating from the shelter.
- Fishing : Next to our shelter, there is a fish pond. During harvest time, the children can enjoy fishing together.
- Sport : Our children also regularly play and exercise at the court near the shelter. These sport activities support their hobbies and encourage active, healthy physical activity as part of their daily routine.
- Exploring World Culture : This program aims to introduce children to cultures from around the world. Through activities such as cooking international dishes together and through films, it helps broaden our children’s horizons and shows them that there is a wider world beyond their immediate surroundings.
- Indonesia’s Independence Day Celebrations : An annual special moment to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day in August, where our shelter children and employees come together to enjoy various games and competitions, fostering fun, camaraderie and a sense of community.
- Ohana Got Talent : A vibrant activity designed to strengthen the bond between Rumah Ohana Cilacap Shelter children and employees. This activity gives everyone the chance to shine on stage through singing, dance, stand-up comedy and more, encouraging creativity, confidence and togetherness.
- Gathering Trip / Annual Trip : Our annual R&R trip for Cilacap shelter children and employees, held to appreciate their hard work over the past year and strengthen togetherness.
